With deeply sad hearts, the members of the Boise Highlanders wish to remember our former Pipe Major, Band Manager, Teacher, Mentor, founder and friend, Ron Lopez who left us January 16, 2024.
Most of us will remember Ron for the rest of our lives as the guy who got us started in piping. He taught most of the pipers and led all of us since the 1970's. He never gave up through all the lean years and the sometimes strife in the band. He was there through the good times and bad, and his goal was always to make us sound good and look good. He achieved his goals of having over 20 pipers in the band, organizing and running a piping school and making a CD. The memebers send our deepest sympathy to his family, all of whom were members of the band at one time or other. We ove and miss you Ron.
